History of the institution

Tallinn University of Technology is the oldest engineering university in Estonia. It is a leading educational institution of the country in the field of engineering, business and public administration. It was founded in 1918. University participated in such programs as: Programmes of Enterprise Estonia, Eureka – Eurostars, KIK, PRIA, EUROPA - EU funding and grants, Horison 2020 - The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, The SME Instrument, INTERREG, BONUS, Seed Money Facility EUSBSR.

History of RO

Innovation and Business Centre Mektory was founded in 2013 and established by Tallinn University of Technology (one of the largest technology university in the Baltics), located in the campus same campus with Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol Foundation. The aim of Mektory is to encourage the cooperation between the academia and private sector, namely bringing together the university research capacity, students, laboratories and SMEs, corporates to make the technology transfer and R&D projects happen. Mektory was built in strong cooperation with private sector companies and institutions. Mektory took part in projects like NOCCA Project, STARTERtallin, etc. It is also famous for: excellence in IT in Estonia, Centre of Excellence for zero energy and resource efficient smart buildings and districts, Centre of Excellence for Genomics and Translational Medicine, Centre of Excellence in Estonian Studies, Centre of Excellence in Molecular Cell Engineering, Development of advanced materials and high-technology devices for energy recuperation systems, Development of quantum and nanomaterials.
