History of the institution

The European Projects Coordination Unit of the City of Pilsen (hereinafter referred to as the ÚKEP) was established on 1 March 2005 as a contributory organization of the statutory city of Pilsen. Its founder is the statutory city of Pilsen and the management is entrusted to the Office of the Mayor of the City of Pilsen. The main goal of the activities of the contributory organization is the coordination of subsidy projects. It focuses mainly on the preparation of such projects, the processing of grant applications, the management and implementation of projects and their subsequent administrative settlement. ÚKEP provides information in the field of obtaining subsidies and grants focused primarily on European Union resources and provides services to all entities within the city of Pilsen and other interested parties with whom it cooperates on specific projects. It focuses on larger projects implemented with the contribution of the European Union, both the Structural Funds and the Cohesion Fund. At the same time, it ensures the optimization of the management and financing structure for the implemented projects. As part of the optimization of the applicant's own resources, it obtains funding from national and local sources. ÚKEP is an organization that employs primarily project management managers and specialists in individual activities. In solving specific projects, it cooperates with experts within the city of Pilsen and, if necessary, with external specialists for specific projects.

Policy maker in Pilsen region. The institution is responsible for the implementation of: - ITI Strategy (Integrated Territorial Investment), - ITI Strategy 2021+ (Integrated territorial Investment), - Smart CITY Pilsen, - EU development projects of the city of Pilsen (transportation, infrastructure, environment, business, science and research, social amenities,..). It has 14 years of experience in EU infrastructural subsidies.
